Thai Goldfields NL was incorporated in 2002 but whose antecedents date back to 1998.
The Company is an Australian registered, unlisted public company focused exclusively on gold and strategic mineral exploration in the Kingdom of Thailand. Project activities are operated through wholly-owned or associated Thai registered group companies
The Company was established in 2002 owning important gold exploration titles in the Chatree district of central Thailand situated close to the Chatree Gold Mine owned by ASX listed Kingsgate Consolidated.
Over the past decade Thai Goldfields has expanded its Thai exploration portfolio by acquiring other important gold interests, as well as applying for titles over a former key tungsten mine and a basemetal project.
Since incorporation, Thai Goldfields has raised $8M from its shareholders to sustain its exploration efforts and has benefited from additional expenditure of $6M on the Company’s projects by former joint venture partner Oxiana Limited (now OZ Minerals Limited).
In 2009/10 JV partner Tigers Realm Minerals fully funded a $2m program which resulted in a JORC compliant resource of 100,000ozs gold and 1mozs silver located within 2km of Kingsgate’s Chatree mill.
Thai Goldfields maintains a small head office in Sydney, Australia and two offices in Thailand, one, an administrative office in Bangkok and the other, an operational office in the Khao Soon district of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, some 700km south of Bangkok. The operational office is located close to the Company’s important tungsten project
The Company’s experienced Thai management team and advisors possess the depth of knowledge necessary to successfully navigate the Company through the various highly regulated bureaucratic processes and exploration stages to enable effective operational performance.
Thai Goldfields is actively seeking additional gold and strategic metal exploration opportunities in Thailand and a cornerstone equity investor to partner the Company in future ventures.
