CHATREE DISTRICT GOLD PROJECT JV
Thai Goldfields (25%) and joint venture partner, Tigers Realm Minerals (75%), re-applied for five (5) key gold exploration titles covering 42km² located within the world-class Chatree epithermal gold district in central Thailand. The titles expired in August 2011.
All the re-applied titles lie within 15-20km of the Chatree Gold Mine owned by ASX listed Kingsgate Consolidated. The Chatree Gold Mine produced nearly 2,000,000 ounces of gold before its enforced closure by the Thai Government on 31 December 2016. This enforced mine closure is the subject of a determination by an international Arbitration Tribunal convened in February 2020 under challenge by Kingsgate within the terms of the Thai Australia Free Trade Agreement (TAFTA).
In 2019 Thai Goldfields acquired the 75% interest held by Tigers Realm.
The 100% interest held by Thai Goldfields NL in the SPL re-applications hosts a resource of 100,000 ounces of gold grading 1.31g/t and 1,000,000 ounces of silver grading 10g/t located within 2km of Kingsgate’s Chatree Gold Mine.
